MANILA, Philippines–Limitless App ruled Leg 5 of the PBA 3×3 tournament, frustrating TNT once again for the title Sunday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Appmasters clinched the second conference, second leg championship after beating Tropang Giga, 22-19, in the final and repeating their Leg 3 feat three weeks ago where they also claimed the title.
Jorey Napoles led Limitless App, the 3×3 team of the Phoenix franchise, with 11 points including four down the stretch. Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, who secured the win a corner two-pointer, finished with five.
“They’re (TNT) improving and we’re still trying to improve. I think every single team has a lot of improvement to still do, it just so happened that the ball went in more for us than for them,” said coach Willie Wilson, whose team won the top prize of P100,000.
This was the fourth time Limitless App and TNT met in the finals of the 3×3 tournament with the former winning all games.
The Appmasters have established themselves as one of the powerhouses in the tournament, entering the leg finals for the third straight time.
Tropang Giga, led by Almond Vosotros, wound up with P50,000 for finishing second place.
Platinum Karaoke, which beat Purefoods 8-17 in the battle for third, took home P30,000.
