NBL: Kai Sotto, Adelaide 36ers suffer third straight loss

MANILA, Philippines — Kai Sotto delivered five of his eight points in the fourth quarter but Adelaide absorbed its third straight defeat at the hands of Sydney, 84-77, in Australia’s National Basketball League on Saturday at Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Sotto shot 3-of-4 from the field and tallied four rebounds, one assist and a block in 16 minutes and 30 seconds of play.

Xavier Cooks showed the way for the Kings, scoring nine of his 22 points in the final quarter. He also grabbed nine rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.

FEATURED STORIES

Dejan Vasiljevic was also instrumental for Sydney with 15 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Jarell Martin chipped in 13 points and six rebounds, while Jaylen Adams added 12 points and five dimes.

The Kings earned their 11th consecutive victory to improve to 16-7 after repeating their first round win over the 36ers, 93-90, last February 27.

Daniel Johnson lifted Adelaide with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists as Hyrum Harris and Todd Withers added 10 in another loss.

The 36ers slid to 7-16, after three straight losses.

Sotto and the 36ers hope to end their slump against the Brisbane Bullets on Monday.
