MANILA, Philippines–Phoenix finally entered the win column of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Friday following a 97-74 whipping of Terrafirma at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Jason Perkins finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists to lead the way for the Fuel Masters, who improved to 1-2.

Matthew Wright pumped in 11 points and 10 assists while Sean Anthony wound up a point shy of a double-double in his first game after a foot procedure. Newcomers Javee Mocon and rookie Encho Serrano also finished in twin figures.

Terrafirma got the goods from Joseph Gabayni, who put up 16 points off the bench. Aldrech Ramos added 14 while Andreas Cahilig 10 in a balanced scoring effort that was still unable to keep the Dyip from sliding to their third loss in as many games.

Phoenix hopes to annex the victory when it plays Rain or Shine this Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Terrafirma, meanwhile, will have to stop the bleeding when it battles Converge Wednesday next week.
