MANILA, Philippines — George Pascua has been named as the new Adamson men’s volleyball head coach for the UAAP Season 85.

Adamson on Wednesday announced Pascua will call the shots for the Soaring Falcons in the return of the collegiate men’s volleyball tournament next year.

The school said former head coach Domingo Custodio will still be part of Pascua’s coaching staff.

Pascua was replaced by Tina Salak as Far Eastern University women’s volleyball head coach after their last place finish, 1-13, in Season 84.

The Philippine women’s volleyball team assistant coach led the Lady Tamaraws to the UAAP Season 80 Finals only to be swept by the La Salle Lady Spikers during his first season last 2018.

The veteran coach, who is also calling the shots for PLDT in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), served the Lady Tamaraws for five years with a 23-26 record in four seasons.

Pascua is returning to the UAAP men’s volleyball tournament for the first time since  2013 after winning four championships with the FEU Tamaraws.

The Falcons are seeking to improve their 9-5 finish in Season 81 last 2019 after they played only one game, losing to National University in straight sets, in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The UAAP looks to bring back all of its sporting events starting in October with men’s and women’s volleyball taking place in the second semester next year.
