MANILA, Philippines–National coach Chot Reyes on Wednesday night said that the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the August window of Fiba games will be known after a key meeting among coaches this weekend.

“We have one more meeting among coaches on Saturday,” he told reporters when asked about the composition of the talent pool for the matches against Lebanon and Saudi Arabia set late next month.

In that huddle, Reyes will finally be joined by Barangay Ginebra Tim Cone, the PBA’s winningest coach.

“We’ve had several discussions already with Tim, but (that will be) the first time that he is going to actually sit down with the rest of the coaching staff to brainstorm.”

The Nationals play the Cedars on Aug. 25 in Beirut, and host the Saudis at Mall of Asia four days later.

Though not at liberty to disclose who is in his personnel wishlist, Reyes said that the roster—which the cage leaders are hoping that Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson would banner—will “for sure” feature some Ginebra players.

Cone is expected to also join Reyes on the bench during those two games.

The younger players who saw action in the Asia Cup are also still part of the projected talent pool, Reyes added.
