MANILA, Philippines–University of the Philippines extended its winning streak to five after routing Emilio Aguinaldo College, 83-57, in Group A of the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Friday.

The defending UAAP champions pulled away with a 21-13 third quarter before limiting the Generals to just 14 in the payoff period to register another dominant win in the preseason tournament.

On Thursday, UP crushed St. Benilde by 56 points.

Zavier Lucero scored a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds for the Maroons, who were just up by 10 40-30 at halftime.

Henry Galinato contributed 12 points and five rebounds for UP.

The Fighting Maroons dominated the Generals in the paint, 58-22, and shared the ball efficiently, leading the assist totals, 23-16.

The Maroons are still atop Group A with a 5-0 record with National University closely behind at 3-0 after its win against Adamson earlier.

Nat Cosejo was the sole double-digit scorer for the Generals with 11 markers.
