UAAP: UST recruit Tounkara eligible for Season 86

MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas has secured the commitment of a 6-foot-7 foreign student-athlete from Mali, West Africa.
Hinda Mady Tounkara will be eligible to play for the Growling Tigers in UAAP Season 86 after serving a one-year residency.
UST Athletic Director, Fr. Rodel V. Cansancio, O.P. announced the news on social media.
The 19-year-old center, who has a 7-foot wingspan, will certainly be a welcome addition to UST, which was one of the worst rebounding teams last Season 84 where the school finished seventh with a 3-11 record.
The Tigers are currently competing in the Filoil Preseason Cup. They beat San Beda, 96-91, in double overtime.
Tounkara’s will join UST’s frontcourt next year in Season 86 just as Bryan Santos and Sherwin Concepcion will be graduating after Season 85.
