MANILA, Philippines—Another Pacquiao has dabbled in boxing.
Michael Pacquiao, the second of Manny Pacquiao’s five children, fought in his first amateur bout on Sunday in BF Parañaque Phase 1 Gymnasium.
The 20-year-old Pacquiao was triumphant, beating Nathaniel Ruiz by unanimous decision.
Pacquiao, who has a budding music career, shook off a bloody nose he sustained from a punch by Ruiz in the first round.
Michael’s brother Jimuel, the oldest of the siblings, was the first to try his hand in boxing.
Jimuel has had several amateur fights in the United States while training at Freddie Roach’s fabled Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
But unlike Jimuel, who is keen on continuing a career in boxing, Michael is more interested in pursuing his career as a rap artist.
