MANILA, Philippines–Tokyo Olympian Margielyn Didal got engaged to her longtime girlfriend Jozel Manzanares.
Didal popped the question on the couple’s eight-year anniversary. The skateboarder shared the news and engagement photos on her social media accounts on Tuesday.
“Yes or YES ?!!” Didal’s caption read. “Cheers to our new [Beginning].”
Didal, a 2019 Asian Games gold medalist, received countless greetings from fans and fellow athletes, including Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo.
The Cebu native, who caught sports fans’ attention during the Tokyo Olympics due to her charms and infectious energy, is recovering from an ankle fracture she suffered in Brazil in October 2022.
