MANILA, Philippines—Rain or Shine signed Rey Nambatac to a two-year extension on Tuesday, extending his stint with the Elastopainters until 2026.
The Elastopainters shared the update after a meeting with PBA team governor Mamerto Mondragon and Nambatac’s agent Edgar Mangahas.
The Letran alumni had signed a three-year deal with the Elasto Painters in 2021, which meant his deal with the team would not expire until 2024.
Still, the Rain or Shine management made sure to snag the shifty guard for two more years.
Currently, Nambatac is flourishing on offense in the PBA On Tour by being the leading scorer of the preseason with an average of 15.2 points per game.
The sharpshooter has been consistently putting up numbers for coach Yeng Guiao even in the past season with norms of 12.5 and 13.7 markers per night in the PBA Commissioners’ and Governors’ Cup tournaments, respectively.
Nambatac’s contract extension came a few months after his participation in an unsanctioned game outside of the PBA during the offseason.
Roger Pogoy also recently signed a contract extension with TNT.
