PBA: Simon Enciso has his ‘lucky charms’ in San Miguel title win
MANILA, Philippines—Simon Enciso got a shot in the arm late in the San Miguel Beermen’s PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship run.
After his dad saw him play live for the first time in a decade in Game 5 of the finals last Sunday, Enciso’s family and relatives were in attendance in Game 6 when the Beermen clinched their 29th championship at the expense of the Magnolia Hotshots on Wednesday.

“Him, my mom, my sister, my nephews and my whole family are all my lucky charms. My biggest dream is to one day play in front of a big crowd and see them there so hopefully, we can make that happen one day,” he added.
The 33-year-old Enciso only had two points in the title clincher but he played an instrumental role in San Miguel’s pivotal Game 5 victory with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. He scored all of his points from long range.

The championship also came on Valentine’s Day and it was only fitting that Enciso was with his family.
“It’s a Valentine’s gift, a birthday gift, I’m just blessed, man,” said Enciso, who is now a two-time PBA champion. “To get my second one is a blessing, I know how hard it is to get here. When you win one, I just love to cherish the moment.”
Enciso won his first PBA crown in the 2022 Philippine Cup when San Miguel beat TNT in Game 7.
