Paris Olympics: Carlos Yulo keeps medal hopes burning
MANILA, Philippines–Carlos Yulo kept himself in contention for a medal in three events in artistic gymnastics Saturday, finishing strong in floor exercise, vault and individual all-around of the men’s division in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Yulo stayed at eighth place in the all-around rankings after subdivision 2 with a total score of 83.631 points.

Yulo also finished strong in the floor exercise and vault, putting him in medal contention for both apparatuses.
Collecting a total of 14.766 points, Yulo finished second after subdivision 2, behind Great Britain’s Jake Jarman (14.966).

The top eight in apparatuses will advance to the final.

Yulo’s worst showing of the night came in the bars apparatus where he tallied just 13.000 points to land in the 35th spot of the event.
The 24-year-old Filipino also ranked 28th in pommel horse (13.066 points), 21st in horizontal bars (13.466 points) and 17th in parallel bars (14.533 points).
Yulo is out of the podium race in those events. The official list of finalists will be known after the last batch of gymnasts compete in subdivision 3 on Sunday.
