Far Eastern University wiggled itself out of some testy moments on Wednesday to boot out a traditional powerhouse and inch closer to its Final Four dreams in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball.
The Lady Tamaraws carved out a 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13 victory at the expense of Ateneo at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City to moving within sniffing range of a semifinal berth.

After a frustrating loss to Adamson, Bella Belen urged National University to have fun heading into their game against also-ran University of the East on Wednesday.
Despite the absence of one of its stars in Alyssa Solomon, the Lady Bulldogs played with a more relaxed approach and made easy work of the Lady Warriors in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.

MANILA, Philippines — Aishat Bello proved her worth for National University by helping the defending champions regain their winning ways in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
Stepping up in the absence of Alyssa Solomon due to a left ankle sprain, Bello made the most of her extended playing time and delivered nine points as NU’s main opposite spiker to make quick work of the also-ran University of the East, 25-8, 25-22, 25-12, on Wednesday at Philsports Arena.

MANILA, Philippines– National University wasn’t going to allow another lowly squad stun it again in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday.
The Lady Bulldogs, just three days removed from a shock loss to Adamson, swept listless University of the East, 25-8, 25-22, 25-12, at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City to get back their twice-to-beat aspirations on track.
Reigning Most Valuable Player Bella Belen took charge with 16 points to go with 13 digs and eight receptions in a steady performance while Alyssa Solomon continues to be on the mend.

MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University sealed the first twice-to-beat bonus in the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament while defending champion National University booked its 10th straight Final Four appearance on Wednesday at Philsports Arena.
Amet Bituin shone in his first start, while Lirick Mendoza hosted a block party to lead FEU past Ateneo, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, for their 11th win in 12 games.
Bituin led the Tamaraws with 17 points and nine excellent receptions, while Mendoza had a season-high eight blocks — the most after Obed Mukaba’s nine in Season 85 two years ago — and four attacks to finish with 12 points.

MANILA, Philippines — Back-to-back losses to lower-ranked teams have set off alarm bells for Bella Belen and the National University Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
Playing without star opposite Alyssa Solomon, who was sidelined due to a minor ankle sprain, NU fell to Shaina Nitura and Adamson, 23-25, 25-15, 26-28, 22-25, on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
This came on the heels of the Lady Bulldogs’ first loss last week at the hands of the UP Fighting Maroons.
