MANILA, Philippines — Alex Cabagnot took care of the dagger baskets as Petron Blaze zapped Globalport 110-98 in the second game of the doubleheader Friday in the 2012 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But Arwind Santos, who could just be the most consistent among the Boosters, starred with a workmanlike effort in the win which puts them at 3-3.

Santos didn’t let anyone get in his way as he scored 29 points, 17 rebounds with two steals and two blocks but Cabagnot’s 7-0 run in the final three minutes sealed the victory.

“What I like about today was we were running. When we had to go to our sets, Arwind was there and he has really been consistent for us,” said coach Olsen Racela.

The Boosters only managed to pull away in the fourth quarter, but Cabagnot made sure they were truly out of trouble after he made 104-98 with more than a minute left.

The rookies of the Batang Pier did most of the work this game, especially Vic Manuel who scored eight of his 23 points in the fourth quarter.

After a series of conversions, Manuel put Global Port within just five with still three minutes left in the game after he split his charities.

But that was the closest the Batang Pier, who was even in the lead in the first half, it would get down the stretch en route to their fifth setback.
