Anton tops Asian karting leg for biggest career win
Castrol-Yokohama’s Iñigo Anton scored the biggest win of his career by winning the first leg of the Asian Karting Open Championship recently in Macau.
Anton cruised to victory after overtaking fellow Filipino Joaquin Garrido with six laps remaining in the final heat.
Garrido tried many times to regain his post but Anton kept focus and managed to keep Garrido at bay until the checkered flag.
Article continues after this advertisementConstantin Reisch of Austria came in third while Macau’s Michael Tam Chan Wa finished fourth.
Anton also clocked the quickest lap of the race at 58.770 seconds, despite racing for the first time at Kartrodomo de Coloane.
“This is a dream come true, and all the hard work and practice with coach Edgen (Dy Liacco) paid off. I thank the Lord for giving me this win,” Iñigo Anton said after the race.
