Mosley, Mayorga scuffle at Los Angeles presser

Shane Mosley and former welterweight titleholder Ricardo Mayorga, two former boxing champions who have the utmost hatred towards each other, couldn’t wait for their scheduled rematch 20 days in Los Angeles.
When they met face to face for their press conference in Las Vegas, the two engaged in a scuffle and had to be separated to prevent what could’ve been an uglier scene.

According to Jose Martino of BoxingScene.com and as seen on video, the brash Nicaraguan Mayorga, known for his smoking and drinking habits outside the ropes, blew smoke on Mosley’s face as the two stared down at each other.
Mosley swiped the cigarette off Mayorga’s mouth before both camps helped restrain their respective fighters, who still trash-talked as they made their way out of the room.
Article continues after this advertisement“Guess whose mad? All the doubters. Cause my fight is trending right now. I’m a ninja. This gonna be the realist fight all year #MosleyMayorga,” Mosley posted on his Twitter account moments after the dust up.
The 43-year-old Mosley stopped Mayorga in the waning seconds of the 12th round during their first encounter in 2008.
Seven years later, Mosley and Mayorga are both way past their primes.

Mosley hasn’t fought since losing to Australian Anthony Mundine in November of 2013 after failing to continue midway through the bout due to back spasms.
The 41-year-old Mayorga won his last two fights via stoppage against little-known fighters Andrik Saralegui of Mexico and Allen Medina of USA in 2014. But apart from his go-for-broke style, there’s really nothing else to feel excited about Mayorga, who has split his last nine fights before winning his previous two bouts.
With a victory over Mayorga, Mosley hopes to put himself back in the mix for another title shot. CFC
