Sparring partner amazed by Pacquiao’s intensity
HOLLYWOOD–Ray Beltran has sparred with Manny Pacquiao countless times throughout the years.
Still, the 35-year-old Mexican warrior was befuddled with the way Pacquiao dominated him in their two sparring sessions this week at Wild Card Gym.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Beltran, a three-time world title challenger and 2014 World Boxing Council-North America Boxing Federation lightweight champion, Pacquiao is very hard to figure out.
While before, it used to be just great movement and great rhythm, now Pacquiao has also refined his technique.
The 35-year-old Beltran also wonders how Pacquiao, turning 38 in December, seems to be still improving in all aspects.
Article continues after this advertisementBeltran said Pacquiao remains very intense, making you work and leaving no time to relax as you don’t know when he’ll strike.
According to Beltran, it’s no longer just about the speed and the bundles of punches that are “all very powerful, ” but the way Pacquiao exploits the angles.
“He’s amazing, working so hard and just going, going and going, ” said Beltran.
Then Pacquiao is gone.
