FEU topples La Salle, sends DLSU to a playoff vs UST for No. 2

MANILA, Philippines—Far Eastern University stunned La Salle with a come-from-behind 25-22, 13-25, 15-25, 27-25, 15-8, win Sunday night to send three-time defending champion in a playoff for the last twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four of the UAAP women’s volleyball at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
With nothing much at stake for them, the Lady Tamaraws hacked out the victory — their 9th in 14 games — and a morale-boosting win that they hope to carry over into the semifinals against top team Ateneo.
Heather Guino-o exploded for 24 points, while Jerrili Malabanan helped up with 15 markers for the Lady Tamaraws.
La Salle finished the eliminations at 10-4, tying University of Santo Tomas.
The two squads clash for the No. 2 spot on Wednesday.
