Jayson Castro wins 5th BPC plum, Terrence Jones is Best Import

MANILA, Philippines—Terrence Jones has been nothing short of spectacular for TNT but he wasn’t alone in leading the KaTropa back to the PBA Finals.
Jayson Castro too, has been brilliant all conference all and on Sunday it was no surprise that the prolific guard claimed the Best Player of the Conference plum on Sunday.
The 33-year-old Castro garnered 1077 points collated from stats and votes from the media, players and the PBA on his way to his fifth BPC award.
June Mar Fajardo, San Miguel Beer’s reigning five-time MVP, came in second with 762 points.
Like Castro, Jones’ stellar play was recognized as he hoisted the Bobby Parks Best Import award at center court before Game 4 of the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup Finals at Araneta Coliseum.
Three of the top five BPC candidates were rookies with Blackwater’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr. winding up in third with 576 points while Columbian’s CJ Perez and NorthPort’s Robert Bolick finished in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jones, the former NBA veteran, got 1245 points to beat Barangay Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee (882 points), San Miguel Beer’s Chris McCullough (729) and Rain or Shine’s Carl Montgomery (399).
