MPBL South finals postponed as 2 players test Covid-19 positive

MANILA, Philippines — The deciding Game 3 of MPBL South Division Finals between the Basilan Steel and the Davao Occidental Tigers has been postponed after two Basilan players tested positive for COVID-19 on the eve of Wednesday’s clash.

The game, which was originally scheduled today (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. at Subic Bay Gymnasium, has been moved to March 17.

The two players have already left the bubble and will be closely monitored by the assigned health agencies and their local government units.

FEATURED STORIES

The rest of the Basilan Steel was put under quarantine again after being in close contact with the two members.

They will undergo another swab test on March 16 to determine whether their game against the Tigers will push through.

A single positive result, however, will result in Basilan losing its game to Davao Occidental via forfeiture.
