SAN FRANCISCO — ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host, Jimmy Kimmel, recently sang in Tagalog parts of Manny Pacquiao’s new song, “Lalaban Ako Para Sa Filipino (I Will Fight for the Filipino),” which the boxer recorded for his May 2 fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In a video posted on his show’s official YouTube channel, Kimmel introduced a 15-second clip of the song “Lalaban Ako Para sa Pilipino.”
“To inspire himself to get himself fired up for the fight, Pacquiao just released his own walkout song,” he said.

“I humbly submit this for consideration to next year’s Grammy awards,” Kimmel said before cueing the clip showing an emotional Pacquiao.
“What a great song. I’ve never heard a song that summed up my emotions completely,” he said, despite not knowing how to speak in Filipino.
After saying that he had been listening to the song the whole day, Kimmel asked for a microphone, which was similar to the one used by Pacquiao.

Kimmel outdid another late night talk show host NBC’s Jimmy Fallon, who last December, blurted out “Lapis, bangka, tsokolate at kamatis” (pencil, boat, chocolate and tomato) on air to promote “The Tonight Show” in the Philippines.
The boxer has been a frequent visitor of the late night show and has even joined some skits.
The eight-division champion also previously sang a duet of John Lennon’s classic, “Imagine,” with comedian Will Ferrell on Kimmel’s show. With a report from KS, INQUIRER.net
