PVL: Motolite snaps PetroGazz streak, boosts Final 4 bid

MANILA, Philippines–Motolite launched a decisive run late in the fifth set to stop streaking PetroGazz on its track, 22-25, 25-13, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11, Wednesday night in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.

Tots Carlos and Bern Flora joined forces in the endgame to help the Motolite Spikers foil the Angels’ eight-game winning run and at the same fuel their drive to the next round.

Isa Molde sparked the run with a crosscourt hit for 8-all before PetroGazz committed two successive errors and Carlos smashing one down through defenders.

Flora then hit high angled shots to make up for Motolite attack errors as the Angels completely wither down the stretch.

It was Motolite’s eighth win in 13 matches and revenge of sorts against PetroGazz which won over it in the first round of the eliminations.

The Angels remained in second place with a 9-3 record.
