MANILA, Philippines—F2 Logistics, one of the most successful clubs in Philippine volleyball history, has switched leagues and will now join the Premier Volleyball League.

The Cargo Movers took to Twitter to announce their departure from the Philippine Superliga to join the PVL ahead of the organization’s first professional season.

There was a social media clamor for F2 Logistics to join the PVL as some of the PSL clubs already jumped ship. The club acknowledged that noise while accepting the invitation from Sports Vision Management Group, Inc.

“To our supporters who we definitely consider as part of the team, thank you for rallying with us and we feel blessed to have you by our side. We would not be here without you. It is also because of you that we announce that Premier Volleyball League will be our arena that we will continuously hone our skills and characters,” announced F2 Logistics.

“With this, we humbly ask for your continuous support. The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers Team embraces the role to take part in further elevating the standard of how volleyball should be played in our country.”

F2 was one of the strongholds of the PSL winning five titles in the organization tying now-defunct Petron for most championships.

The Cargo Movers became the fifth PSL franchise to jump to the PVL along with PLDT, Cignal, Sta. Lucia, and Cherry Tigo–all of which are title holders or championship contenders.

This will be the first time in 13 years that a Ramil De Jesus team will be in the Sports Vision umbrella after his De La Salle squad last played in the Shakey’s V-League.

Aby Maraño was the last of the Cargo Movers to have played in the Shakey’s V-League when she joined Philippine Army as a guest player.

GRATEFUL

Kalei Mau, Kianna Dy, Mary Joy Baron, Ara Galang, Kim Fajardo, Desiree Cheng, and Dawn Macandili will play in the PVL for the first time.

F2 Logistics also thanked the PSL, the league that elevated the brand since entering the organization in 2016.

The Cargo Movers’ stay in the PSL saw them win two titles each in the All-Filipino and Invitational Conferences along with the 2017 Grand Prix championship in their nine finals appearances.

“It is with grateful hearts that we thank Philippine Superliga for being our home for the past five years. Our team was created in this league way back 2016. Defeats and victories molded our team’s character. We will not be champions today without you,” wrote F2 Logistics.

“Thank you to the officers, management and staff of PSL. You have been very dedicated and driven not only to the league but also to Philippine volleyball. We will always be proud to have carried your logo.”
