Chen likewise won gold in the snatch event lifting a weight of 100 kg with Ando settling for third at 94kg and Han Sojin taking the silver at 96kg.

Ando’s medal collection pushed the Philippines’ haul to six in the competition after Mary Flor Diaz had three silvers in the women’s 45kg division.

Hidilyn Diaz, a silver medalist in the 2016 Rio Olympics, secured her spot for Tokyo but failed to win a medal in the continental competition after she finished fourth in the women’s 55kg.

Diaz just needed to join the Asian Championship to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
