Yuka Saso jumps to 6th in women’s golf world rankings

MANILA, Philippines—There’s no stopping Yuka Saso’s rapid rise in women’s golf.

The rising Fil-Japanese climbed to No. 6 in the latest Women’s World Golf Rankings released on Monday.

Saso jumped three spots with a 5.64 average in points through 36 events played.

FEATURED STORIES

Olympic champion Nelly Korda of the United States remained on top followed by Korea’s trio of Jin Young Ko, In Bee Park and Sei Young Kim.

Lydia Ko of New Zealand is in fifth.

The 20-year-old Saso, who put the LPGA on notice after winning the US Open two months ago, most recently placed 39th in the AIG Women’s Open.

She also finished in joint 15th in the Women’s Scottish Open after going ninth at the Tokyo Olympics.
