Choco Mucho falls to Thais, faces Rebisco in classification round

MANILA, Philippines — Team Choco Mucho took another straight-sets loss, this time, at the hands of powerhouse Supreme Chonburi, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21, in the Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship quarterfinals Monday at Terminal 21 Hall in Thailand.

Team Choco Mucho dropped its third consecutive game but not after turning in a commendable performance led by Kalei Mau.

Mau finished with 16 points while Mylene Paat added 14.

The loss relegated Choco Mucho into the classification phase for fifth to seventh places where it faces Team Rebisco on Wednesday.

Earlier, Rebisco lost to Nakhon Ratchasima QminC, 25-11, 25-19, 25-18, in their quarterfinal matchup.

The two Thai squads Supreme Chonburi and Nakhon Ratchasima QminC arranged a semis showdown also on Wednesday.
