Eumir Marcial weds longtime girlfriend

MANILA, Philippines—Olympic boxer Eumir Marcial married his longtime girlfriend Jenniel Galarpe on Thursday.
The Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist and Galarpe exchanged their vows in a private beach wedding with close friends and family in attendance.
Also at the ceremony were Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and national boxing teammates and silver medalists Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam.
Philippine Olympic President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino was also present during the wedding.
Galarpe, who is also a boxer, and Marcial got engaged in June 2020.
Marcial, the Philippines’ heaviest Olympic boxer at the 160-pound middleweight division, already has one professional bout under his belt after he beat Andrew Whitfield via unanimous decision in December 2020.
Outside of boxing, Marcial was also promoted from airman first class to sergeant in the Philippine Air Force after his success in Tokyo.
