MANILA, Philippines—ONE Championship’s 10th anniversary card, ONE X, will feature a striking masterclass with Eduard Folayang and John Wayne Parr facing off against each other in a wushu versus Muay Thai super fight.
The lightweight match, however, will be fought under Muay Thai rules on March 26.
Folayang, a two-time lightweight king, is considered one of the greatest Filipino mixed martial artists of all time.
But the Team Lakay veteran is currently on a downward spiral with only one win—beating Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu by technical decision—in his last six fights.
He last appeared in August, losing to China’s Zhang Lipeng by unanimous decision.
Before transitioning into MMA, Folayang was a decorated wushu specialist having won three gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games and taking a silver and a bronze in the Asian Games.
Parr, meanwhile, is a 10-time world champion and was the 2011 World Kickboxing Federation K-1 middleweight champion.
MMA legend Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang Jitmuangnon will also clash in a mixed rules bout in ONE X.
