MANILA, Philippines-Creamline rose from two sets down to escape PLDT, 22-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12, and gain the solo lead in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference semifinals Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Tots led the Cool Smashers’ comeback with 22 points while Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza added 14 each.

Creamline upped its mark to 2-0 in the semis while PLDT slid to 2-1.

Jia De Guzman also shone with 23 excellent sets.

The High Speed Hitters put up a valiant effort despite squandering a golden opportunity to remain undefeated in the semis.

PLDT displayed great resolve in the second set after it rallied from seven points and saved five set points.

The High Speed Hitters, however, just couldn’t sustain their momentum beginning the third set to fall to 2-1.
