Beautiful city, style of play draw Dwight Ramos to Levanga Hokkaido

MANILA, Philippines–Dwight Ramos had only been to Sapporo twice which was enough to make the city his new home in Japan in the upcoming 2022-23 B.League season.
After playing for the Toyama Grouses in his maiden season in the B.League, Ramos signed with Levanga Hokkaido where he sees his game flourishing more.
“There’s a couple of times I came to Sapporo and I really like the city. That was one thing,” Ramos said when asked why he decided to switch teams.
“The other thing I was talking with the GM and the coaches here and they said they really wanted me here. They said all the things that are part of my game, that they want to be a part of the team so I was really happy to join and bring what I could bring to the team,” he added.
Ramos, one of 10 Filipinos set to see action in the B1 and B2 divisions this season, had stretches of brilliance with Toyama last season where the Grouses finished 14th.
Levanga placed two spots below Toyama in the standings the previous season and Ramos is hoping his arrival will boost the team’s campaign.
“We have really good imports, really good Japanese players this year so hopefully we could make a run this year,” said the 24-year-old guard.
